Phew! Okay, so I've just barely made it - the last recap for SN season four completed with only a few days to go before the season five premiere!
I've ranted in places and also rejoiced in places, probably over-stated some arguments, and not necessarily expressed myself as clearly as I might have liked, but nonetheless this is how it is going to stand. So, here it is: too many pages in which I rabbit on at length about choice versus destiny, big picture versus little picture, personal responsibility versus towing the company line, Sam's terrible mistake, Ruby's machinations, the validity of Dean's depression, why I dislike some of the words placed in Bobby's mouth even while enormously appreciating his value as a solidly human ally, why Lilith was such an ineffectual villain, why I dislike the mytharc ret-con in this episode, and much more beside.

One last note to close on. Folks, these things are getting too long and unwieldy to go on like this. I love this show dearly, and I love writing about it, too. But there is just too much to say nowadays! I never thought I would ever hear myself complaining that the show had become too complex! Still, between the complexities of ongoing character development and plot movement, the average length of recaps this season has been at least twice what it was two years ago, and as a weekly endeavour that simply isn't sustainable - well, the length of time it has taken to round off last season stands as evidence of that.
What I'm saying is, I have no idea whether or not it will be possible to continue producing regular recaps in the new season, not while holding down a full time job and various other Real Life commitments as well. I want to keep writing, but there is no way in the world I can even begin to hope to keep up with episodes as they air, so what recaps I do produce will have to be as and when. How that works out in practice, we'll just have to wait and see.
