llywela: (on the road)
Sunday night. Been a bit of a busy yet lazy weekend, really.

On Friday I had my first work's Christmas lunch, this one with the volunteer organisers. That was my second Christmas lunch, after I treated Mum and me to one while we were shopping on Monday. Tomorrow I have my second work's Christmas lunch, this one with the staff, gathered from around Wales. Then next Friday we've got our Christmas Drop-In for the volunteers.

By the time Christmas actually arrives, I'll be all Christmassed out!

Very nearly had Small for the weekend - she had her bag all packed ready to come on Friday night, but then found out they were having a karaoke night round at the youth group my dad helps run at the church. Technically she's too young for youth - they are supposed to be 11 - but she's allowed to go round for some of their activities to get her used to it. So, karaoke won out and she stayed at home. Fine by me - she wanted me to take her to Winter Wonderland, which would have cost a small fortune. I went shopping instead and picked up a few more stocking fillers. Also ordered mum's present, so I've mostly just got my dad's to sort out now, plus the odds and ends I get for my nan and aunty Lel. Also took the opportunity to experiment with the shortbread recipe the long-lost cousins from Canada sent us. Not bad, but still not perfect - I'll get it spot on one of these days!

No class to teach in Sunday School today - or for the next couple of weeks. We're hard at work practicing for the Christmas play. We are going to have the tiniest, fidgetiest angels ever - they are all from the nursery class of two and three years olds. Adorable. But fidgety.

Currently distracted watching Casualty 1906 - 'a one-off drama giving a snapshot of life at a London hospital a hundred years ago'. It's really good. Excellent stuff.
